Government Training Institute (GTI) Mombasa was
established in 1978 by the Directorate of PersonnelManagement (DPM) in the Office of the President to provide management development training for Public
Sector Organizations. The Institute has progressively and
effectively contributed towards performance enhancement
and quality service delivery in a large number of Public
Sector institutions through training and related capacity
building interventions.
Location and Size
The Institute is located along Vanga Road, adjacent to the Aga Khan Hospital, off Nyerere Avenue on Mombasa Island, well within the breathing range of the expansive Indian Ocean. The Institute is hosted on a land area of 4.7 acres.
Organisational Structure
Government Training Institute is headed by the Director, who is answerable to the Permanent Secretary Ministry of State for Public Service, and has a Deputy Director who doubles as the Director of Studies. There are seven departments:
